How to Edit Your Shop’s About Section

The About section of your shop homepage is where you can share the story of your business. Shoppers can learn more about your creative process, the story behind your products, and any teammates or collaborators you work with.

Share your shop story through a video or photos that show off your workspace or demonstrate your process. You can also add your social media handles, shop members, and more.

How to edit your shop’s About section

Shoppers can find your About section by scrolling down your shop homepage on the desktop and mobile versions of Etsy.com, or by selecting the About tab at the top of your shop homepage in the Etsy App.

To edit the About section:

  1. On Etsy.com, go to your Shop Manager.
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Your shop.

From Your shop, you can edit most of your shop details directly. To customize your shop homepage (including your About section), select Shop home editor in the top right corner.

On Etsy.com, you can also select the pencil icon next to your shop name under Sales Channels to edit this information in the Shop Home editor. Scroll to the About section to edit.

If your shop isn't open to the public, you’ll need to open your shop first.

What can you add to your shop’s About section?

Sharing information about the members and process behind your Etsy shop helps shoppers build a connection and sense of trust with you and your shop.

Shop basics

Make a strong first impression on buyers by sharing your shop’s story and offering a behind-the-scenes look at the creativity and process behind your items.

  • Shop name: Give your shop a unique name. You can change your shop name up to 5 times. After that, additional name changes will require approval from Etsy Support. Capitalization changes or using a previous shop name do not count as a name change.
  • Tagline: Describe your shop in a few words. You can share the story of your shop in more detail in the About your shop section.
  • Logo: Represent your shop with a logo that fits your brand and what you sell. Your logo must be a .jpg, .png, or .gif file, smaller than 10MB, and at least 500px by 500px.
  • About your shop: Share the story behind your business in 5,000 characters or less. You can discuss topics like how your shop was founded, your process, and what you see for your shop’s future.
  • Featured video: Add a video to your shop home to give shoppers an inside look at your process, materials, workspace, team, or behind the scenes of your shop. Your video must be an MP4, MOV, AVI, MPEG, or M4V file up to 300 MB.
  • Featured photos: Upload up to 5 photos with captions from this section. These can include everything from your creative process to your studio layout. Images can be .jpg, .png, or .gif files up to 2MB. You can upload photos of any dimension you like, but your photos will be cropped to display at 760 x 468 pixels.
  • Links: Share places buyers can get the latest news from your shop, such as a website, blog, or social media profile.

From Shop basics, you can also set preferences for:

  • Listing sort: Choose which listings are shown first in your shop—either in a custom order you set, or by recency. Buyers can always change their view from a dropdown in your shop home.
  • Sold listings: Select if you want buyers to be able to visit your Sold listings page from your shop home.

Shop team

Let buyers know who helps with making your items or running your shop. People listed here will appear on your shop’s public About page. Owners will also appear on your listing pages.

  • Location: Tell shoppers where you’re based.
  • Shop team: Provide the name, role, and bio of your team members, along with a photo of them. Learn more.
