Purchase an Item Using Internet Explorer With JAWS Screen Reader

JAWS is a software programme for Microsoft Windows that assists blind and visually impaired users with reading and navigating desktop applications. To make a purchase on Etsy using JAWS, please follow the instructions below.

Add an item to your basket

First, make sure you’re signed in to Etsy, and navigate to the listing that you'd like to buy.

For some items, there is more than one quantity available, or the seller may offer different options to choose from, like colour or size. Use form fields navigation to focus on these fields and make selections as needed.

Focus on the dropdown menu and use alt + down arrow to open the combo box. Use the arrow keys to navigate through the options and then hit Enter to choose the option.

When you're ready, use the form elements search to activate the Add to basket button.

In your basket

Once you add an item to your basket, you’ll automatically be taken to your basket. You can continue shopping if you like, or you can complete your purchase.

When you’re ready to check out, use the forms search to focus the Proceed to checkout button.

If this is your first time ordering, you’ll be prompted to enter your delivery address. If you’ve chosen to pay with a card, you’ll then be prompted to add your card information.
