If you’re a seller in a country that is eligible for Etsy Payments, orders placed through PayPal will be deposited into your payment account on Etsy.
If you’re in a country that is not yet eligible for Etsy Payments, you can use your own PayPal account to accept payments. This means that when a buyer pays for an order using PayPal, the funds are deposited into your PayPal account.
PayPal is a service that securely processes online payments. Buyers can use a credit card or PayPal account to submit payment for Etsy purchases without sharing financial information with the seller.
Getting started with PayPal
First, go to https://www.paypal.com and register.
Sellers are encouraged to sign up for a Business or Premier account, not a Personal account.
This is for two reasons:
- Personal accounts may be subject to monthly limits.
- Personal accounts can’t accept payments that are funded by a credit card.
Add PayPal to your Etsy shop
If you're located in a country eligible for Etsy Payments, PayPal is included in the payment methods you accept. You won't be able to accept PayPal via your own PayPal account. Orders placed through PayPal will be deposited into your payment account.
If you are in a country not eligible for Etsy Payments, and your shop isn't open to the public, you'll be able to add PayPal as a payment method under the Get Paid tab. Enter the email address you use for accepting PayPal payments.
If your shop is open, follow these steps:
- Go to Shop Manager > Finances > Payment settings > Accepted payments.
- Scroll down, select PayPal, and enter the new email address for your PayPal account.
- Be sure to click to Save.
Payment from PayPal sales will be available in your PayPal account. For more information on accessing your PayPal payments, please contact PayPal directly.
