You set up your shop, you made your first sale. Time to get paid!
Etsy Payments is the primary way to get paid on Etsy and simplifies payments for both you and your buyers. When your shop is enrolled in Etsy Payments, your buyers can choose from the following payment options:
- Credit cards
- Debit/bank cards
- Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
- Google Pay
- Google Pay
- Klarna Invoice payments (Germany)
- iDEAL (the Netherlands)
- Sofort (Austria and Germany)
Sellers using Etsy Payments don’t need to have an account on any of these services to receive money from them. The buyer can use these payment methods, and your sales funds will be made available in your Etsy account through Etsy’s relationship with these payment services.
What are the fees for using Etsy Payments?

Who can enrol in Etsy Payments?
Etsy Payments is only available in certain countries. To be eligible for Etsy Payments, you must have a credit card, bank account, and residential address in one of these countries.
All sellers in eligible countries must enrol in Etsy Payments with integrated PayPal. Standalone PayPal was switched off in Etsy Payments eligible countries on 15th May 2019 and is no longer be available to sellers in these countries.
When do I get paid?
Once you sign up for Etsy Payments, there are certain limitations on how your deposits are held to ensure that no one is fraudulently using your account.
There is a 5-day hold on the funds in your payment account when you add or update your bank information.
After the 5-day hold, there is a 90-day period where your funds become Available for deposit 3 days after a sale. When the 90-day period ends, funds will become available for deposit the next business day after a sale.
You can schedule when your funds are deposited into your account from your Payment settings.
How Etsy Payments works with PayPal
When you’re enrolled in Etsy Payments, people who purchase items from your shop can pay using PayPal. These payments go into your Payment account on Etsy instead of appearing in your PayPal account. This way you're not managing your money in multiple places.
When eligible, Etsy's Seller Protection covers PayPal transactions processed through Etsy Payments.
When you use PayPal through Etsy Payments, you don't have to pay a separate PayPal fee.
How does integrated PayPal work with my US taxes?
US sellers with over $20,000 USD in annual sales and more than 200 payments through Etsy Payments are eligible for a 1099-K form at the end of the year. Any sales you made using integrated PayPal will be included in the total on your 1099-K form from Etsy, not in your PayPal 1099-K form if you have a separate PayPal account.
Cases and disputes with PayPal
If a buyer pays with PayPal through Etsy Payments and files a case on Etsy, an Etsy employee can mediate. Learn more about resolving a case on Etsy.
If a buyer chooses to file a dispute through PayPal, Etsy will work on your behalf to resolve the dispute. As the seller, you won’t directly participate. This is similar to how we manage credit card chargebacks with Etsy Payments.
Currencies available for bank deposits
Your bank account country sets the currency of your deposits. For example, if your bank is in the United States, your funds are deposited in United States Dollar (USD).
Etsy will send your funds to your bank in one of the following currencies:
- United States Dollar (USD)
- Australian Dollar (AUD)
- British Pound (GBP)
- Canadian Dollar (CAD)
- Danish Krone (DKK)
- Euro (EUR)
- New Zealand Dollar (NZD)
- Norwegian Krone (NOK)
- Singapore Dollar (SGD)
- Swedish Krona (SEK)
- Swiss Franc (CHF)
For sellers located in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Romania: Etsy sends funds in Euros to your bank account on file. Your bank may charge foreign exchange fees to deposit these funds into your account.
