I Can't Sign In to My Account

If you're having trouble signing in to your Etsy account, you can reset your password:

My account was suspended by Etsy

If your account was suspended by Etsy, you’ll have to resolve the issue before you can have full access to your account again.  In most cases, you can find the reason for your account suspension in an email from Etsy.

I’m having trouble with two-factor authentication 

If you’re having trouble with two-factor authentication, try using one of the backup codes given to you when you enabled two-factor authentication.

I have the correct username and password, but still can’t sign in 

If you believe you’re entering the correct email address and password but still can’t sign in, it’s possible your web browser is out of date.

I'm signing in using a third party account 

When you log in to Etsy for the first time using a third party account (such as a Facebook, Apple, or Google account), you'll need to enter your Etsy account’s password. Once you've entered your password, Etsy will associate your account with the new third party.

I see a pop-up message about a security code

Etsy may periodically send you an email alert with a unique security code to be used as a one-time password.

If you see a  pop-up message saying “We just sent you a code”, check the email address linked to your Etsy account. If you don’t see the email in your inbox, check your spam or junk mail folder.

If the security code is not entered within five minutes, you will be sent a new one the next time you attempt to sign in to your account.

If you received these email alerts but didn’t try to sign in to your Etsy account we recommend that you reset your password.

I want to reopen an Etsy account I previously closed

If you want to reopen an Etsy account that you closed, you can reopen your account. If you permanently closed and deleted your Etsy account, you cannot reopen it. You’ll have to create a new account with a different email address.

To prevent unauthorised access to your Etsy account, Etsy may periodically send you an email alert with a unique security code to be used as a one-time password.

If the security code is not entered within five minutes, you'll receive new one the next time you attempt to sign in to your account.

You may see a pop-up message saying “We just sent you a code”. This means that a security code will be sent to the email linked to your Etsy account. You will regain access to your account once you enter this security code correctly. 

What if I didn’t try to sign in to my account?

If you received these email alerts but didn’t try to sign in to your Etsy account we recommend that you reset your password.

I keep getting the security code email even after I reset my password

If you already reset your password and get a security code the next time you sign in, it’s likely you’re using a password you’ve already used for your Etsy account.

We recommend that you add a brand-new password that has never been used on other sites. This  helps assure that your account is as secure as possible.

Check your email inbox again, as these emails might end up in your spam or junk mail folder. Search for "noreply@etsy.com" and"noreply@mail.etsy.com" in your email inbox and look for the subject line
"Reset Your Password."

Go to this page to reopen a closed account on Etsy, and select Reopen your account. Enter the email address associated with the closed account. You'll receive an email from Etsy with a link to reopen your account. Click the link to reopen your account.

All your information will be exactly as you left it.

If your shop was suspended, you may have received an email from Etsy letting you know why. If you're a seller, there may be a notice in Shop Manager.

If you need to sign in to your account and you don't have your phone, try using one of the backup codes given to you when you enabled two-factor authentication. Each of your backup codes only works once.

If you don't have a working backup code handy, please select I still need help.

In the future, remember to keep your backup codes in a safe place.

You can set up two-factor authentication using an authenticator app, or using a phone through a call or text. However, call and text support for two-factor authentication isn’t available in all countries.

Check the list of countries where you should be able to receive an authentication code via phone or SMS. Message and data rates may apply when you provide your phone number.

If your country isn’t on this list, you can use an authenticator app on your phone for two-factor authentication. Download any authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
