How to Use the Classic Listing Experience

These instructions are for our older listing creation tool.

To use the new listing experience, select Switch to new/old version in Shop Manager. Learn how to use the new listing experience.

To list an item in your Etsy shop:

  1. On, open Shop Manager. If you're using the Etsy Seller app, tap Listings.
  2. Choose Listings. If you’re a new seller, choose Your shop.
  3. Select Add a listing. On the Etsy Seller app, tap the + Create button.

Before you can start listing items, you must register as a seller. Review our Seller Policy to make sure your items fit into Etsy’s handmade, vintage, or craft supply categories.

Step 1: Add photos and video

To add photos to your listing, choose Add a photo to add files from your computer. You can add multiple photos at once.

To change the order of your images, select a photo and drag it to the left or right.

Optional: Add a video

Step 2: Choose your thumbnail image

Step 3: Add listing details

The listing details are how your listing is categorised on Etsy, and how it can be found in Etsy search. Shoppers can filter search results by many of the details you add.

Learn more about listing details:

  • Add a title

  • About this listing

  • Choose listing categories

  • Optional: Add attributes

    • You can choose I offer more than one for an attribute if you want to add a variation for that attribute.

  • Choose your renewal option
    • By default, listings automatically renew after four months and you will be automatically charged the applicable listing fee.

Step 4: Describe your listing

Next, describe your item to help them get found in search and to help shoppers understand your listing.

Step 7: Marketing

If you are running an Etsy Ads campaign, you can choose if you want this listing to be included in the campaign.

If you’re adding a listing from the Etsy Seller app, your listing will automatically be included in your Etsy Ads campaign. If you want to remove a new listing from your Ads campaign, you can toggle the Include in Etsy Ads campaign button from the listing in the app.

Step 8: Publish or save your listing

Your listing won't be saved until you select Save as Draft or Publish.

Choose Preview to see how your listing will look to shoppers.

At this time, the listing preview doesn't accurately reflect price and quantity if they are set for variations of the listing. Once you publish the listing, you’ll be able to view all your variations.

Save as draft

To save your listing for later, choose Save as draft. To save as a draft, you'll need to enter a category, a price, quantity, postage rates, and a title. You can always enter temporary info and then replace it before you publish.

You can find your draft listing in your Listings page under Drafts.

Drafts never expire, and there is no limit on the number of drafts you may have. The "listed on" date isn't set, and you aren’t charged the listing fee until the listing is published to your shop.

You're ready to sell! Select Publish to finish your listing. The $0.20 USD listing fee will be added to your Payment account.

Your listing is now live! This listing is now available to shoppers on Etsy. Tell potential buyers about your new item and share it on Facebook or Twitter.

It may take up to 48 hours for listings to appear in Etsy search results and categories.

Can I bulk create listings?

If you want to create a series of similar listings, you can create one listing and copy it to save time.

Copying creates a brand new listing with all of the info from the copied listing in place. From there, you can tweak and publish.
