How are the award winners chosen?

Bestselling cookbook author, recipe developer, and content creator Molly Baz, furniture and spatial designer Willett, and Etsy’s own trend expert Dayna Isom Johnson will help select the 2025 Grand Prize Etsy Design Award and the 10 Category Etsy Design Award winners.

The judging criteria include:

• Eye-catching craft (Does your item showcase your unique craftsmanship and skill?)
• Bold vision (Is your item stunning, best-in-class, unique or imaginative?)
• Personal story (your maker or curator story)
• Top-notch branding (Does your shop feature high-quality photography, clear, compelling descriptions, and excellent customer service?)

In addition to the criteria above, the judges are also on the hunt for items that make extra-special gifts this festive season.

The People’s Pick Award winner is determined by community vote. Between 18 September and 25 September, shoppers can vote for a finalist using Etsy’s favouriting tool. The People’s Pick Award winner will be determined by the item that receives the most eligible favourites during the voting period. See Submission Terms for more information.

How Can I Submit a Listing to the Etsy Design Awards? 

To submit a listing for consideration for the Etsy Design Awards, visit our Etsy Design Awards page. You will receive an email confirming your entry was successfully received. 

Am I eligible to submit an item for consideration?

To be eligible to submit an item for consideration, you must meet the following criteria: 

• Your shop has at least 4 listings.
• You’re only submitting 1 submission per shop. If you have more than 1 shop, you may only enter 1 listing for each shop. 
• Your submitted item has a minimum of 3 photos.
• You’re the owner of the shop and are submitting yourself (please don’t enter on another shop’s behalf). 
• Your shop and items comply with Etsy Guidelines and Etsy Seller Guidelines. 
• If your item is vintage or one of a kind, we require that you put this item on hold from the time you enter until 31 December 2025. If your vintage or one-of-a-kind item sells during this period, your submission becomes null and void. To put a listing on hold, edit your listing title so it's clear to buyers the item is reserved (for example, RESERVED DO NOT PURCHASE).
• Your shop can’t be on holiday mode during the submission period (11-25 August 2025).

Sellers from which countries are eligible to enter The Etsy Design Awards?

Sellers in the following countries may enter: United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam.

While we’ve tried to be as inclusive of as many sellers globally as possible, due to legal restrictions, the Etsy Design Awards is not open to sellers in all countries.

How will I know if I’m a finalist or award winner?

Finalists will be notified in early-to-mid September 2025. Award winners will be announced in November 2025.
