To view the shipping status and tracking number (if available) of a gift someone purchased for you on Etsy, select View gift teaser in the email you received.
When purchasing an item on Etsy, buyers can mark an item as a gift, then enter your email to send you a gift teaser. You’ll then receive an email from no-reply@etsy.com that lets you know someone bought something special for you on Etsy. You may also be able to reveal the image of the item, if the person who purchased it for you chose the option to give you a sneak peek.
Once you open the email, if you choose View your gift teaser, this will bring you to a personalized gift teaser where you will see a message from the buyer if they chose to include one, along with order details, such as:
- Your gift’s shipping status
- The estimated delivery date
- Tracking information (if the seller has provided a tracking number)
- The item image (if the buyer chose to include it)
- An audio or video message from the buyer (if the buyer chose to include it)
If the gift hasn’t been shipped yet, save the link to your gift teaser so you can easily see the status of the order in the future.
You can view your gift teaser for 90 days after your gift has been purchased.
What if the audio or video message is inappropriate?
If you feel that the audio or video message doesn’t comply with Etsy’s community guidelines for creating and uploading content, you can report the video or audio message.
To report the message choose Report, select the reason you are reporting the message and then choose Submit. Once a message is reported it is immediately removed.
While the message will no longer appear on your gift teaser page, you can still view the gift message and/or tracking details.
What if I have a question about my gift?
If you have questions about your gift, reach out to the person who purchased it for you or message the seller.
To message the seller from your gift teaser:
- Select Get help now under the gift message.
- Enter your email to sign in to your Etsy account or create a new account if you don’t yet have one. You need an Etsy account to message the seller.
- In the Message the seller for help section, select the issue you need help with and add any details the seller needs to know.
- Select Send help request.
The response from the seller will appear in your Messages.
What if order doesn’t arrive, or there is a problem with the item?
On the rare occasion that something goes wrong with your gift, please reach out to the person who purchased it for you. Let them know what the issue is and they can message the seller for further assistance with your gift order. Only the person who purchased the gift for you can start the return or exchange process. Have them contact Etsy support for help only if the seller can not resolve the issue first.
