Marketplace Insights provides sellers with direct access to real Etsy search data. This tool helps you identify popular buyer keywords, spot emerging trends, and use these as inspiration for optimizing your listings and planning your inventory.
At this time, Marketplace Insights is only available on the desktop and mobile web versions of Etsy.
To use Marketplace Insights:
- On Etsy.com, go to Shop Manager.
- Select Stats.
- Select Marketplace Insights.
- Enter a keyword into the search bar to view search data.
You can search for specific terms and view related data such as the number of searches and listings on Etsy from the last 30 days.
Sellers can explore up to 15 keyword searches per week for free. The number of searches you have remaining for the week is displayed over the search bar. The results of your 15 free searches remain available to you for 7 days from the time you originally searched that keyword.
If you’re an Etsy Plus subscriber, you’re able to search for unlimited keywords and will get access to more exclusive features in the future.
What is Marketplace Insights?
Marketplace Insights can help you in the following ways:
-
View what buyers are searching for on Etsy: Discover the most-searched keywords related to the categories you sell in.
-
Discover similar search terms: View terms related to your searched keyword and identify areas of opportunity with high buyer interest but a lower number of listings across Etsy.
-
Conduct competitive research: See the items and prices buyers are likely to see when they search for specific keywords.
- View trend data: Explore trending searches in your categories over the past 30 days
You can use the above insights to improve your listings and plan your inventory strategy.
Does Marketplace Insights update my listings for me?
No, Marketplace Insights won’t update your listings for you. However, you can apply the insights gained from the tool when:
- You create a new listing
- You edit your listings in bulk
- You update your tags
- You use the AI-powered title suggestion tool
The search terms you see in Marketplace Insights reflect what buyers are searching for - even if something is not allowed on Etsy. It is your responsibility to ensure your listings - including the terms you use - comply with our Seller Policy.
