The items on Etsy Studio
Using feedback from supply sellers and buyers, we've updated our approach to craft supply items.
First, we’ve clarified our definition of craft supply items. Items that fall into this definition will make up the Etsy Studio market, including craft supply items used to make finished items or plan events.
Note: Craft supply items will still be found and shown in the Etsy market.
On Etsy Studio, you will also find digital listings. Items like sewing pattern downloads, digital prints, and clip art will all be available.
These craft supply item types that are currently on Etsy are also accounted for:
- And commercial (meaning not handmade or vintage)
Our prohibited items list remains the same for both Etsy and Etsy Studio.
For any suggestions for listing categories, you can use our Listing Category Update Form.
Preparing for Etsy Studio
A big part of updating our approach was improving the way supply items are categorized. Sellers should list their items with confidence knowing that buyers will find them.
A key feature to categorizing supply items are listing attributes. Attributes provide sellers with distinct and organized characteristics to better describe their items.
Using attributes on your items makes it easier for buyers to search items by size, color, material and other category specific characteristics.
If you haven't added attributes to your items yet, you can use the quick add tool to update each of your items.

It’s likely you may see more traffic from Etsy than Etsy Studio at first. Since Etsy Studio is a new market, traffic from Etsy Studio may take some time to gain momentum.
As Etsy Studio grows in popularity, we hope that it becomes a go-to destination for craft supply enthusiasts.
Promoting your brand and individual listings through your social media channels, blogs, and other press outlets is always a great way to increase your chances of getting more listing views.
Etsy Promoted Listings will work similarly on Etsy Studio as they do now on Etsy.
We’ll be working more over the coming year to evaluate the best ways to offer off-site advertising. Options like Google Shopping on Etsy Studio will become available once we know the best way for Etsy Studio sellers to use them.
