What to Do If You Have Limited Access to Your Etsy Account

If you try to sign in to your account and you receive the error “Our security team has temporarily limited your access to this account for your protection,” we have temporarily limited access to your Etsy account to protect your account and play it safe. This doesn’t necessarily mean that your account was hacked or compromised. 

To regain access to your account, you can reset your password:

  1. Visit the password reset page and enter the email address you use for your Etsy account.
  2. Click Submit.
  3. You'll receive an email which includes a link to reset your password. Click the link in this email to reset your password.
  4. You'll receive a second email letting you know that your password has been changed.  

If you have any trouble receiving the password reset email, check your spam/junk mail folder to make sure the email didn't end up there. 

Be sure to look for messages from:

  • emails@mail.etsy.com 
  • emails@e.etsy.com 
  • transaction@etsy.com 
  • conversations@mail.etsy.com 
  • lostpassword@mail.etsy.com

I can’t reset my password

If you’re having trouble requesting a new password, contact us at accountsecurity@etsy.com with the subject line “Locked Out of Account”.

We’ll need to ask you a series of identification questions to verify that this account belongs to you. Please know that we value your privacy and will never share your responses or personal information.  

After we’ve confirmed that you are the account holder, we’ll help you reset your password.
