When you’re ready to get started, submit an application.
Once you’ve received your acceptance email you can start the Wholesale onboarding process. Go to Shop Manager and click Add channels on the bottom left. Then click Continue Wholesale setup. Or, click this link while signed in to your wholesale-accessible account.
To set up your wholesale shop, you need to add at least one wholesale listing, fill out your policies and profile, and confirm your credit card on file.
Set up your linesheet
To start, list at least one item on your wholesale linesheet. Don’t worry, your linesheet will remain hidden until you're ready to publish.
If you're already a seller on the retail site, click Add listings from your retail shop to upload an existing retail listing. This makes your listing unified, meaning it appears in both your retail and wholesale shops.
If you don't have a retail shop, or you don't want your retail listings unified, click the Add a listing box from your wholesale shop to create a brand new wholesale listing. If you want, you can unify this to your retail shop at a later point.
Note: At this time, you can't remove items from your linesheet until it's published. Wholesale items are free to list, so you won't be charged listing fees when you publish your linesheet. You can un-unify, deactivate, or delete any unwanted listings after you publish your linesheet.
Wholesale listings vs. unified listings
While unified listings are the easiest to set up, many sellers opt to keep their listings separate so their descriptions can speak directly to retail buyers. Having wholesale-only listings allows you to highlight best-selling items within the description or offer suggestions for items in your line that would complement the current listing.
If you offer additional discounts or customized packaging or display cases, wholesale-only listings are a perfect way to relay this information to a potential stockist.
Tip: Use one of your images to showcase a mini display of your line so retailers get a visual of what your product would look like in stores. For retailer tips on packaging for wholesale, visit this article from the Seller Handbook.
When you add listings to your linesheet, please keep in mind that your wholesale rate should be at least 50% off your retail prices. If you're unable to offer this discount on any of your items, we ask that you remove them from your linesheet. You can adjust your retail pricing in order to offer this margin.
Additionally, your retail price should be consistent across all venues where your work is sold.

Setting maximum listing quantities
Wholesale listings do not have maximum listing quantities like retail listings do. Buyers can purchase any amount from a single wholesale listing. Wholesale items cannot sell out from a wholesale purchase order.
If you have limited quantities available for wholesale, you should mention this in your wholesale listing. If a buyer submits a PO requesting more than your maximum quantity, you can edit the requested quantity before invoicing the buyer. Be sure to communicate with your buyer if you need to change the quantity to ensure they know their order is changing.
Note: If your unified listings sell out in your retail shop, those items will disappear from your wholesale linesheet.
Setting minimum order quantities
Although you can't limit the maximum amount of units a buyer can order from a single listing, you can set a minimum order quantity (MOQ).
An MOQ requires buyers to order no less than your set quantity of items before they can add the product to their purchase order.
This feature can be used in addition or in place of a minimum order requirement (MOR). For information about MOR, please see the Set up Your Policies section of this article.
Keep in mind that your MOQs can't be split up between listing variations in a single listing. If you list an MOQ of 5 for your shirts, a buyer must buy at least 5 of each size to be able to add it to their purchase order. You can choose to reduce or remove the MOQ for any listings with listing variations.
You can also indicate in your listing description an MOQ that can be met with a mixture of variations, if it applies to your listings.
Note: Setting a MOR of $200-300 is encouraged. For those wishing to set MOQs in place of MORs, consider calculating the total cost of your lowest priced item multiplied by your MOQ to come up with your MOR so that your policy page looks complete!
Set up your policies
Once you've added at least one listing, start filling out your policies. Detailing your seller policies can help protect both you and your buyers for all purchase orders. Make sure all fields are filled out before moving on to your profile.
Select how you want to get paid. These are separate from the settings you have selected for your retail shop.
Etsy Payments is the only payment method currently integrated with Etsy Wholesale. If you use Etsy Payments, buyers can pay you with a credit card directly on Etsy.
Here are the other payment methods that you're welcome to accept off of the Etsy platform. Once you receive your payment through these other methods, you can manually mark your PO as paid.
Credit cards: If you have a way to process your own credit card payments using a third party or your own device, you can do so. Please coordinate payment with your buyer via Conversations, and call your buyer if you need to obtain sensitive information like bank account numbers or credit card information.
PayPal: Invoice your buyer directly from your PayPal account.
Checks and money orders: We advise that you wait until you receive the payment and it clears in your bank before sending the shipment.
Bank transfers: Contact your buyer directly to obtain their bank information to work out a bank transfer.
Explain your policies regarding payment. You can include payment deadlines and tax considerations, as well as your cancellation policy.
If you offer extended payment terms such as net 30, you can include this information here.
Net 30 allows a buyer to pay 30 days from the date of invoice or shipment. Sellers can adjust the time frame to their preference (eg. net 10, net 60 etc).
Generally, net terms are based on business credit. It is not recommended that you extend net terms to first time buyers. If you have an established relationship with a buyer, this may be something you wish to consider.
Shipping items before receiving payment is done at the seller’s discretion. Etsy does not guarantee payment for orders shipped prior to receiving payment.
Minimum order requirement (MOR)
First order minimum is the minimum purchase amount you require from first time buyers.
Reorder minimum is the minimum purchase amount for repeat buyers. This is generally lower than the first order minimum since a relationship between you and the buyer has already been established.
Note: Buyers have the ability to submit a purchase order for less than your first order minimum. They'll receive a pop-up notification letting them know that their order may be rejected for being too small. As a seller, you can accept or cancel new POs at your discretion.
List the shipping carriers and delivery speeds you offer for your orders. If you're open to letting the buyer use their own shipping account to pay for shipping costs, you can mention this here.
Explain any shipping costs for which your buyers are responsible. If shipping depends on weight and distance, you can let your buyer know that the shipping cost will be added to their invoice once their order is ready to ship.
Note: Shipping profiles and labels are retail-only features. Once shipping costs have been added to an order, you can ship your orders directly using your preferred shipping carrier.
Estimated production time
Let buyers know how long they should expect to wait before their orders will ship.
This is an arrangement made between a retailer and a seller. A retailer accept payments for an item, then transfers the order details to the seller who then ships the item(s) directly to the customer. Offering drop shipping is optional.
If your items are made to order with the option to customize, let your buyers know!
This is an arrangement in which a seller sends products to the retailer who will pay the seller only when the products are sold. The seller will remain the owner of the products until they are sold. Sellers are not required to offer this but may choose to do so with some buyers. Please note that Etsy Wholesale is not optimized for consignment.
Include any other information you’d like buyers to know here. For example, do you offer samples? Exclusivity arrangements? Are you open to in-store appearances? Here’s your chance to give your buyers additional details.
Set up your profile
If you’re already an Etsy seller, your Wholesale profile is similar to your About section. In fact, you can copy your existing About section and add any relevant retail-facing info such as current stockists or the types of stores you’re looking to be carried in.

Every brand has a story. Use this section to tell yours! Add an interesting title and compelling story to help buyers feel connected to your brand and its mission.
As an example, you can write about your brand’s beginnings and how it's grown over time. Where and when did you start out? How has your item line evolved over time?
Upload a profile picture that conveys the personality behind your business. This profile picture will be used for both your Etsy and Etsy Wholesale accounts.
Add five business images that give buyers a special peek into your brand. These should be at least 812 pixels wide, 428 pixels in height, and in .jpg, .gif, or .png format.
Tip: Part of why Etsy Wholesale is so unique is the connection buyers have to their sellers. Use your images to really deepen that connection. Share shots of your handmade process or give buyers a photo tour of your studio!
Share the details of your business with the Etsy Wholesale community. For example, when was your brand established? How many people are involved? Where are your items made? This information will appear on your seller profile.
Enter the address of your business or studio along with a current telephone number. If you need to update your email address, please contact email@example.com with your updated info.
Don’t worry, your address is not publicly visible. It's only shown to buyers after a purchase order has been initiated.
Note: While our system does look at sellers' addresses when filtering local search results, only cities and states are displayed to buyers. To be included in local searches, make sure to enter your location in your retail Etsy profile.
Enter the URLs for your business website, blog, Facebook page, or Twitter profile. While these are optional fields, we highly encourage you to include all relevant social media links. Doing so allows buyers to keep up to date on your business outside of Etsy Wholesale.
Publish your linesheet
Once your profile and policy pages are set up, you’re ready to publish your linesheet!
There is a 3.5% transaction fee on all Etsy Wholesale purchase orders.
The transaction fee will be added to your monthly Etsy bill once an invoice has been issued to the buyer for the purchase order. Shipping charges and taxes will not incur a transaction fee. The fee is applied to all the items in the order, including miscellaneous charges. There is no listing fee for wholesale listings.
Share your guest pass
Once your linesheet is published, it will be accessible to all registered wholesale buyers. If you wish to share your linesheet with buyers who aren’t already on the Etsy Wholesale platform, you can do so by issuing a guest pass.
Since a buyer using a guest pass won't necessarily offer all of their business information, it's important to provide your guest pass only to buyers you are interested in beginning a business relationship with. It's not ideal to put your guest pass in very public areas like your business card or your Etsy retail shop if you have one, since you aren't able to control who sees this information.
To share your linesheet:
- Click Shop Manager > Listings > Linesheet Organizer.
- Click the Share with Buyers link on the right.
An overlay will appear with an auto-generated link. You can share this special guest pass with buyers who are not yet registered on Etsy Wholesale. The link will give them access to your linesheet, seller policies, and seller profile.
If your guest would like to place a purchase order, they must first register for an Etsy account. Guests who already have an Etsy account can sign in to that existing account to complete checkout.
Tip: Let your buyers know you’re an approved wholesale seller by adding a line to your retail descriptions, your About section or your shop announcement. Do not link your linesheet publicly. Instead, encourage buyers to request your linesheet with simple communication directed at retailers, “I’m an approved Etsy Wholesale seller. Ask me for my linesheet."
