How to Translate Your Shop and Listings

To reach a wider audience of buyers, we recommend that you:

How to check your default language and add languages

Once you add a language to your shop, you’ll be able to manually translate your shop and listings.

If you need to change your default language, learn how.

  1. Sign in to Etsy.com and go to Shop Manager, then Settings
  2. Go to Languages and translations
  3. Select Manage languages. In the window that appears, you’ll see your default language at the top.
  4. Toggle on additional languages that you are fluent in.
  5. Select Save changes.

How to manually translate your listings

You can manually translate a listing’s title, description, and tags (tags are optional). The categories and attributes you select for your listing will translate automatically.

  1. Sign in to Etsy.com and go to  Shop Manager, then Listings
  2. Select the listing you want to translate.
  3. Scroll down to the Translations section, where you can manually add your translations.

Be sure to list in the correct language fields. For example, French should be in the French fields and English in the English fields.

  2. Go to Settings and then Options
  3. Scroll down to the Automatic Listing Translation box and select Disabled
