On Etsy, you can help your buyers personalize items by turning on Personalization from the listing page. Personalization helps buyers let you know what they want to be personalized on an item, like an engraving or pattern.
You can also offer listing variations, like color or size, or custom listings.

How to photograph personalized listings
When listing personalized or customized commercial items (such as monogrammed or engraved accessories), your first image must show a finished, customized item similar to what buyers will receive. It’s prohibited to use a photo of the blank product or a mockup with placeholder text (e.g. “Your Text Here”) as the main image.
You may use an example of your similar previous work to give your buyers the most accurate idea of what their custom-made items will look like when they’re completed. When using photographs of previous work with options for customization (like color choices), make it clear in your description that the photos shown are just examples.
Mockups and images created with the aid of computer software may be used in the additional listing images to give buyers examples of customization options.
See our Listing Image Requirements for more information.
For the buyer, the required personalization field appears on the listing card with the other options for that listing, like color or quantity.
When a buyer requests a personalized item, you see the personalization request on the Orders page and in the email you receive about their order.
