With two million active sellers around the world, we know that Etsy is a not a one-size-fits-all platform. Etsy’s optional monthly Etsy Plus package gives sellers access to a suite of tools designed for sellers who want to take their shop to the next level.
Subscription Plans & Features
Etsy offers one paid subscription plan: Etsy Plus. When a seller joins Etsy, they automatically have access to Etsy Standard, a free suite of tools and capabilities. Signing up for Etsy Plus, with additional features, is completely optional.
Etsy Standard includes all basic tools that were available to sellers prior to the introduction of Etsy Plus and Etsy Premium. The availability and pricing of certain paid services, such as Promoted Listings, Google Shopping ads, Pattern, and Etsy Shipping Labels, remain unchanged.
Sellers can continue to pay for these tools as they use them without being required to sign up for a monthly subscription.
Etsy Plus provides you with tools to jump-start growth for those who want to take their shop to the next level. These features and perks come bundled together for subscribers of Etsy Plus:
- A monthly budget of credits for listings and Promoted listings ads
- Access to a discount on a custom web address for your Etsy shop
- Restock requests for shoppers interested in your items that have sold out
- Advanced shop customization options
- Access to discounts on custom packaging and promotional material like boxes, business cards, and signage
We expect that Etsy Premium will offer a full set of advanced business management tools for larger scale sellers, including all of the tools available in Etsy Standard and Etsy Plus. We plan to make Etsy Premium available in 2019 with more details to be announced.
Pricing & Billing
Etsy Standard: Available to all sellers at no additional monthly cost. This is the default for all sellers.
Etsy Plus: USD $10/month.
Note: Pricing is billed in USD, so the amount in your currency may vary based on changes in the exchange rate. Also, depending on your business status and location, we may be required to charge tax, such as sales tax or VAT on your seller fees, including your Etsy Plus subscription fee. You can learn more about VAT on seller fees in this Help article.
Etsy Premium: Not yet available. We plan to release pricing in 2019.
You will see an immediate fee applied to your Etsy statement as soon as you sign up for Etsy Plus or Etsy Premium. These plans are billed on a monthly basis.
While subscribed, you’ll normally be billed on the same calendar day every month. For example, if you sign up on the 12th of a particular month, you’ll be billed on that same calendar day each successive month as long as you remain subscribed.
However, if that calendar day isn't in a given month, you’ll be billed on the last day of that month (e.g., if you sign up on January 30, you'll be billed the next month on February 28).
To view your Etsy Statement, go to Shop Managers > Finances > Your bill.
Changing your Subscription
You can upgrade or downgrade your Etsy Subscription plan at any time. Unless you are upgrading to a paid subscription package from Etsy Standard, upgrading or downgrading does not create a new monthly subscription cycle.
If you upgrade from Etsy Standard to Etsy Plus, your 30-day subscription cycle begins on the day you subscribe.
If you upgrade from Etsy Plus to Etsy Premium (once available), we’ll apply a prorated fee to your Etsy statement for the difference in cost. You’ll have access to all the benefits of Etsy Premium plan going forward for as long as you’re subscribed to it.
If you downgrade your Etsy Subscription plan mid-cycle, you’ll still have access to the effective plan’s tools until the end of the current subscription cycle. After the plan ends, you’ll be reverted back to the tooling availability for your newly chosen Etsy subscription plan.
To make changes to your subscription plan, go to Shop Manager > Settings > Your Subscription.
Will subscriptions impact how my listings appear in search?
Paid subscriptions will not influence how your listings appear in search. For search, we continue to focus on showing buyers the items that are most relevant to them.
Is there a limit to how often I can subscribe and unsubscribe from a subscription package?
No, there is no limit on subscribing or unsubscribing. If you change your mind about a subscription package, you’re welcome to downgrade or upgrade your subscription at any time. Keep in mind, when downgrading your subscription, you’ll have access to the features through the remainder of your subscription cycle.
Are the subscription packages going to ever change?
The subscription packages will continue to evolve over time so that we may offer you new features to help grow and manage your business. We’ll be sure to announce any major changes to the subscription packages and their offerings.
Can I try out a subscription package for less than a month?
No. Once you’ve subscribed to a package, although you’re welcome to unsubscribe at any time, you’ll have the remaining subscription cycle’s perks and features until the end of your effective subscription cycle.
Does Etsy Plus include Pattern?
Etsy Plus does not include Pattern in its offerings. If you use both Etsy Plus and Pattern, your Pattern website will remain as it is, and you will be charged the regular fees for using Pattern. You can read more about Pattern fees in this Help article.
