Etsy Payments is the primary way to get paid on Etsy and offers more payment options to your buyers. Learn more about Etsy Payments.
We are launching Etsy Payments to these countries soon and we will let you know in your Shop Manager and by email when you can sign up:
- South Africa
Once you enroll in Etsy Payments, we’ll do a one-time conversion of your Payment account balance into your local bank currency. From that point on, you’ll be able to pay your fees and receive sale funds in your local bank currency.
Read our Etsy Payments Policy for more information.

Why should I enroll in Etsy Payments?
There are several benefits to using Etsy Payments.
To protect your business
Etsy Payments gives you the most protection on Etsy. When your payments are processed through Etsy Payments, it provides Etsy with the information we need to help investigate chargebacks and facilitate the resolution of cases filed against sellers. Sales processed through Etsy Payments are eligible for Etsy’s Seller Protection Policy.
For your buyers
Etsy Payments provides buyers with a unified experience across shops, and gives them the choice of how they want to pay for an order. By creating a unified experience and offering more payment options, you can build trust with your buyers. Etsy Payments makes it faster and easier for buyers to complete a purchase in your shop.
To simplify your payments
Etsy Payments routes all of your sales from Etsy to one place. You can schedule your deposits to arrive in your bank account when you want them - daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
What are the fees and taxes for Etsy Payments?
Fees in each market vary due to the differing costs of operating and depositing in each country. Etsy Payments fees will apply to all of your sales on Etsy, in addition to all other applicable Etsy fees. For full details of fees, visit our Fees & Payments Policy.
Orders paid for through Etsy Payments are subject to payment processing fees.
(% of total sale price + flat fee per order)
|Malaysia||4.5% + 2 MYR|
|Mexico||4.5% + 10 MXN|
|Philippines||4.5% + 25 PHP|
|South Africa||4.5% + 8 ZAR|
|Turkey||6.5% + 3 TRY|
Additionally, there are deposit minimums and deposit fees that vary by country:
- Deposit minimum: The deposit minimum must be met to receive the funds in your bank account. If not, we will not send the funds to your bank account.
- Fee threshold: If your Available for deposit balance is above the deposit minimum but below the fee threshold, you will be charged a deposit fee. If your balance exceeds the fee threshold, you won’t be charged a deposit fee.
- Deposit fee: This fee is charged if your deposit amount is below the fee threshold. Your Available for deposit amount will show your available sales minus the deposit fee. The fee is deducted from your Payment account at the time of the deposit and is subject to VAT, where applicable.
Deposit minimums, fee thresholds, and fees vary by country:
|Country||Deposit minimum||Fee threshold||Deposit fee|
|Malaysia||9.00 MYR||400.00 MYR||8.00 MYR|
|Mexico||40.00 MXN||2,000.00 MXN||40.00 MXN|

|South Africa||35.00 ZAR||1,500.00 ZAR||30.00 ZAR|
|Turkey||50.00 TRY||600.00 TRY||42.00 TRY|
You may want to adjust your deposit schedule to give your shop time to make sales and possibly exceed the fee threshold.
We’ll collect VAT on processing and deposit fees for sellers in Malaysia, South Africa, and Turkey. If you have a VAT ID, you can add your VAT ID to your Etsy account to establish a business relationship with Etsy.
In Malaysia and Turkey, sellers who have a business relationship with Etsy are not charged VAT on seller fees.
How does Etsy Payments affect my PayPal sales?
When you’re enrolled in Etsy Payments, people who purchase items from your shop can pay using PayPal, if Paypal is available in your country. Your sales funds will go into your Payment account on Etsy instead of appearing in your PayPal account.
Where eligibility requirements are met, Etsy's Seller Protection covers PayPal transactions processed through Etsy Payments.
Additionally, when you use PayPal through Etsy Payments you don't pay a separate PayPal fee. Learn about the fees charged for sales processed through Etsy Payments in the Etsy Payments Policy.
As Paypal does not operate in Turkey, PayPal is not available to Etsy sellers located in Turkey. This means that sellers located in Turkey cannot accept PayPal in their shops.
If your shop is located in Turkey and you currently offer Paypal in your shop, after you enroll in Etsy Payments, you will no longer be able to offer it. However, Etsy Payments gives your buyers more ways to pay, including credit cards, Etsy Gift Cards, and more. Learn more.
