I Received a Security Code Email from Etsy

To prevent unauthorized access to your Etsy account, Etsy may periodically send you an email alert with a unique security code to be used as a one-time password.

Etsy takes many precautions necessary to safeguard your information and security codes are just one of the many ways we maintain the integrity of our marketplace.

What if I didn’t try to sign in to my account?

If you received these email alerts but didn’t try to sign in to your Etsy account we recommend that you reset your password:

  • Create a password that is easy to remember but hard for someone else to guess.

  • Use at least eight characters, but the longer the better.

  • Use a mix of lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

We also recommend that you review your account for any unauthorized changes such as your saved addresses and credit cards, and any unrecognized sign-in activity or purchases.

To view this information:

  1. On Etsy.com, click You.
  2. Click Account settings.
  3. Click Addresses or Credit Cards
  4. Click Security and scroll to see your sign in history

How do I enhance my account security?

Etsy offers additional levels of protection for your account. We strongly encourage all members to consider enabling these additional security settings.

To access your security settings, sign in and go to Your Account > Account Settings > Security.
