How do I earn badges?

Earn badges by engaging with different aspects of the Etsy Community Hub, including but not limited to:

• How many posts or replies you’ve written
• How often members find your post helpful
• How often you react to other members’ posts
• How many community events you’ve attended
• Your participation on an Etsy Team

How will I know when I earn a new badge?

When you earn a badge, you’ll receive a notification. Notifications are sent via email, appear in the Community Hub as pop-ups on the bottom of the screen, and can also be found in your notifications feed, under the bell icon on the navigation bar. You can manage your notifications in your Profile.

Badges that you’ve earned will appear on your Profile. 

What badges can I earn?

Badges you can earn include: 

• First Thread: You shared an original post in the Forums. Thanks for your contribution!
• Trusted Contributor: Your helpful answers received a number of positive reactions from the community.
• Community Cheerleader: You consistently encourage other members’ posts using reactions. 
• First Event: Qualify for this badge by registering and checking in for your first community event.
• Event Explorer: Level up to unlock this badge by attending 5 community events. 
• Event Insider: Look at that packed calendar! Earning this badge means you’ve attended 15 or more community events. 
• Team Captain: You lead an Etsy Team within the Community Hub. 
• Team Member: You’re part of an Etsy Team within the Community Hub.
• First Reply: You continued the conversation with your first reply to a discussion thread.
• Conversationalist: You’re becoming a regular voice in the community and have shared at least 10 replies. 

Will my badges have an effect on my Etsy shop?

Badges are only applicable to and visible within Etsy’s Community Hub. They do not impact your shop status, your Etsy.com search results, or the Etsy marketplace in any way. 

Can I ever lose a badge?

Once a member has earned a badge, that badge will remain in their collection.

However, if you violate Community Policy, your status in the Community Hub may change. Etsy also reserves the right to modify or remove badges at its discretion.

Any activity that violates our Community Policy may not count towards earning badges, including any of the below:

• Any posts that have been marked as spam
• Any posts that appear to be made for the purpose of earning a badge, as they are considered unsolicited promotional content

Can I search for members by badge?

At this time, recipients of specific badges are not displayed.
