Why Hasn’t My Money Been Deposited Yet?

Quick answer

It’s possible your funds aren’t scheduled to deposit yet. Go to your Payment settings to manage your deposit schedule.

Manage my deposit

If you didn’t receive a deposit after making a sale with Etsy Payments, check each of the common scenarios below.

If you’re required to use a Payoneer Payment Account and you’ve confirmed funds were sent from your Payment account on Etsy, contact Payoneer’s Support Center or call Payoneer for help receiving the funds.

Your funds aren’t scheduled to deposit yet

If you're a new seller, your funds will generally be Available for deposit 14-20 days after a sale, though it may take longer depending on the specific standing of your shop. Etsy Payments orders may become Available for deposit the next business day depending on the specific standing of your shop.

Manage my deposit

Sellers who receive deposits to their bank account can set up a deposit schedule for available funds. If the date of your next deposit hasn’t occurred yet, you can wait for that date, or select Request it now under your amount Available for deposit.

  1. Sign in to Etsy.com and go to Shop Manager
  2. From Finances, go to Payments Settings.
  3. Under Deposit schedule, choose daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly deposits.

The daily deposit schedule requires that a minimum deposit amount be met before the funds can be deposited. This minimum amount varies by country.

At this time, sellers who are required to use a Payoneer Payment Account are only able to receive deposits from Etsy each Monday.

Your fees are greater than your sales

See my balance

If you owe more fees for your Etsy shop than you made in sales, you won’t have funds Available for deposit. This means that your Current balance is negative.

  1. Sign in to Etsy.com and go to Shop Manager
  2. From Finances, go to Payment account.
  3. Under Recent activities, you’ll see your Current balance. This is your sales minus your fees. If this balance is positive, you’ll see an amount Available for deposit.

You don’t have a valid credit or debit card on file

Update my card

To receive your Etsy Payments funds, you need a valid credit or debit card connected to your account.

  1. Sign in to Etsy.com and go to Shop Manager
  2. From Finances, go to Payments Settings and select Billing.
  3. Choose Edit next to your card details or select Add new card under Your cards.

Enter your card details and select Save.

You can add a prepaid card to your account if you already have a credit or debit card on file. A non- reloadable prepaid card can’t be your only or primary payment card, but you can always pay your bill manually with a non-reloadable prepaid card.

Shops based in Germany, Austria, or the Netherlands don’t need to add a credit or debit card.

You don’t have a valid bank account on file

Update my bank account

To receive your sales funds, you need to have a valid bank account connected to your shop, unless you’re located in a country where you’re required to accept deposits to a Payoneer Payment Account

  1. Sign in to Etsy.com and go to Shop Manager
  2. From Finances, go to Payment settings
  3. Next to Bank details, select Edit.
  4. Enter the number of your bank account on file and select Confirm bank account.
  5. Enter your new bank information and select Save.

If your bank account is located in the EU, Hong Kong, Singapore or Switzerland, you will need to verify your bank account before you can receive any funds from your sales for compliance purposes. Learn how you can verify your bank account.

You recently updated your bank account

Once you’ve updated your bank account, your Etsy Payments funds will be on hold for 5 days to protect your account from any possible misuse. This means your Etsy Payments sales funds can be deposited into your new bank account from 5 days after you update your bank details.

If your new bank account is located outside the US, you will need to verify your bank account before you can receive any funds from your sales for compliance purposes.

Your funds are placed in a Payment account reserve

See my reserve details

If a Payment account reserve is placed on your account, a percentage of your sales are set aside on a rolling basis for up to 45 days.

Reserves are a common practice in online marketplaces. They can help keep your Payment account  balance from going into the negative if you receive a chargeback from a customer’s credit card company, or any other unexpected charges.

How do I know if there’s a reserve in my account?

You’ll be notified by email if a reserve is placed in your Payment account.

  1. On Etsy.com, go to Shop Manager
  2. Go to Finances
  3. Go to Payment account.
  4. Review the Payment account reserve section (you’ll only see this if you have a reserve).

You need to verify your bank account

If you’re in the US, you may see a message in your Payment account that you need to verify your bank account to continue receiving deposits.

Verify your bank account in your Payment settings, and your next deposit will be sent according to your deposit schedule. Learn how to verify your bank account.

After you verify, you can also select Request it now in your Payment account to have your funds deposited the next day, as long as you meet any applicable deposit minimums.

You need to confirm your seller info

Check your Shop Manager Dashboard for a banner asking you to confirm your seller info to continue getting paid. Etsy is notifying some sellers they must confirm their seller info to comply with regulations. Depending on if and what regulations apply to your shop, Etsy may need to hold your deposits until you confirm your info.
