How to Calculate Order Earnings

The earnings calculator and order earnings breakdown are pre- and post-purchase features to help you optimize your pricing strategy with confidence.

Earnings calculator

The earnings calculator is an optional tool that provides an estimate of how much you’ll earn on a listing. Use it to help set listing prices that will cover your expenses.

To use the earnings calculator:

  1. On Etsy.com, go to Shop Manager
  2. Select Listings and pick the listing of your choice.
  3. Scroll to Price & Inventory.
  4. Select the Estimated earnings dropdown. Enter your item price and estimated costs to see how much you are estimated to earn when the item sells.

Actual order earnings may vary. Use the earnings calculator for estimation purposes only.

Gain a clearer understanding of how much money you’re making with order earnings. Order earnings is a post-purchase summary that details the amount you’ve earned from an order after Etsy fees and other costs are deducted.

The order earnings breakdown details how much the buyer paid, shipping costs, marketing costs, fees, credits, and refunds, when applicable.

The order earnings breakdown includes costs for shipping labels purchased through Etsy. Shipping labels purchased outside of Etsy are not included.

  1. Go to your Shop Manager and select Orders.
  2. Select an order from the New or Completed tabs.
  3. Select the Earnings tab.

  1. Go to Orders.
  2. Select an order.
  3. Select Earnings

If you make changes to an order in the future, like adding a shipping label or processing a return, the breakdown will update automatically.

To view monthly, quarterly, etc. order earnings, go to your Payment account.
